Who was Henry Moses Wood?
Henry Moses Wood was the Borough Surveyor for Nottingham between 1837 and 1858. He was responsible for The Arboretum which was created between 1852 and 1854.
Life and Work
He studied in the practice of Edward Staveley, and in 1831, jointly with Edward Staveley, he produced a detailed plan and map of Nottingham and its suburbs. He continued the business after Staveley's death in 1837.
In 1835-1836 he was Sheriff of Nottingham.
