Who was Hugh Armytage Moore?
Hugh Armytage Moore was manager of the Rowallane estate from 1909 to 1917. He inherited the property in 1898 from his Uncle the Revd. John Moore. The garden he laid out at the estate is recognized as one of the finest in Northern Ireland and in 1942 Moore received the RHS Victoria Medal of of Honour for his contributions to horticulture in the region.
