Who was Joseph M. Fisher?
Joseph M. Fisher was active as a designer in the mid-20th century.
Richmond Park Gardens include formal designs laid out during the 20th century and a woodland garden created by Joseph Fisher in 1950, (who also began the Waterhouse Plantation at Bushy Park in 1949).
In 1948 the then Park Superintendent Joseph Fisher started making improvements to the Woodland Garden area; his creative eye was responsible for the new paths and planting that remain the backbone of the gardens today.
