James Donaldson was an architect and surveyor from Ayrshire, Scotland active in the late-18th and early- to mid- 19th centuries. He was the father of the teacher, scholar and architect, Thomas Leverton Donaldson (born 1795, died 1885) and lived much of his life in London. He died in Bloomsbury on 8 October 1843.
