James Fillans
James Fillans was a Scottish sculptor born in Wilsontown, Lanarkshire and active, particularly in Glasgow, in the mid-19th century. His monument to William Motherwell, of 1851, at The Necropolis, Glasgow, is signed by him. Fillans died of rheumatic fever on 27 September 1852. He was buried at Paisley, beneath his own figure of Grief.
