Joseph Dalton Hooker
Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker was a botanist and plant collector active in the 19th and early-20th century. Hooker travelled widely and in 1865 succeeded his father Sir William Hooker as the Director
of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew a post he held until his retirement in 1885.
