Alwalton Manor House

Introduction

Features of Alwalton Manor House include a divided garden, separated by yew and beech hedges, and a woodland walk.

Overlooking the flood meadows of the River Nene, the garden is divided into a series of garden rooms by trimmed yew and beech hedges. The use of box hedging is particularly good here. To the north a woodland walk is being planted with extensive views over the Nene valley to Castor.
History

The 17th-century manor house is situated to the north of the village and is approached through a large court of fine farm barns.
