Introduction
Fragments of broad woodland strips survive at Balkeachy, planted during the first half of the 19th century. The layout consisted of a long axial strip running north-south, with other strips at right angles to it. The character and period of the layout are similar to that at another site, Tormitchell, and it is possible that both sites were experimental plantation landscapes.
