Introduction
Chesham had a house with grounds and parkland set in open country to the east of Walmersley Road. There is a lodge in a wooded area to the north-eastern end of the site. This is an irregular site with the house and garden being roughly central. There is a path system leading from the house to a wooded area to the northern end of the site. The site was enlarged to the south-west by the 1890s. The site survives in part. The house has been demolished but the park and path system around the house are now part of the open space backing on to Clarence Recreation Ground.
