History

The gatehouse stood near to Park Road and the drive to the house followed the course of what was to become Bridge Street. The site was occupied in the early-20th-century by Mr J C Haslam. By the late-19th-century the site had been divided and a number of detached houses in individual plots had been developed on the area of the garden and part of the park. Heaton Cemetery had been established to the south-west of the site.
