Introduction
Greenmount House is approached by a long carriage drive leading from the Rochdale Road. The site bounded by the Moston Brook to the east, Church Lane to the north and Turkey Lane, now known as Lathbury Road to the south. There is an area of parkland associated with the house and there may also have been a kitchen garden and orchard. There are belts of woodland around the site and three ponds, one of which has an island. The site survives in part.
