Greyfriars Kirkyard

Based in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town, Greyfriars Kirk has stood in the same spot since 1620 – the first new Kirk to be built in post-Reformation Scotland. We aim to be a welcoming, inclusive community and to respond to local needs in a variety of ways, particularly through our work with the Grassmarket Community Project and the Greyfriars Charteris Centre. The Kirk is also a major venue for the arts, a beautiful space for hire in the centre of the city, and a popular tourist destination.
