Hambrook House

Introduction

Hambrook House formerly had a large garden, which is now subdivided and partly built over. (Desk based updating May 2010. This description was checked with South Gloucestershire Historic Environment Record Officer - June 2010.)

The formerly large garden is now subdivided and partly built over. There is a garden folly consisting of a storehouse and perhaps an icehouse surmounted with an earth mound and the top 6 metres of the spire of Winterbourne Church which was damaged by lightning in 1871 - now outside present ownership.

The house (listed grade II) dates from the 17th century and was re-faced in 1784. The storehouse and folly (listed grade II) are from the mid-19th century.
