- History
The Cross is a large 19th century villa with a garden of shrubberies and lawns. The gardens were probably laid out between 1852 and 1870. At this time the owner was Margaret Entwisle. The site was extended by F.W. Dunn in the early-20th century, at which time a group of photographs were taken by Edwin Miles. The site now has some mature specimen trees, including a large Wellingtonia.
