Introduction
Newton House has a house in grounds to the north of Muslin Street, later Talbot Road. The site was surrounded by fields on all other boundaries. There were some buildings adjacent to the eastern boundary. This is a rectangular site with the house to the north end with a productive garden behind. There was an open area to the south of the house surrounded by thickly-planted wooded areas with a path system. The site survives in part. It is now a social club with a bowling green, plus a number of other works buildings.
