One House is a medieval site, but the house was demolished in 1939.

History

One House is the first recorded dwelling in Rainow. It is believed to have been granted to a Forester, Richard Davenport in around 1150.

The Hulley family took over the site in 1166 and it remained in their possession until it was demolished in 1939.

The kitchen garden still survives and was created in around 1709.
