Padlock garden lies above the 350 foot contour line. Here are displayed an extensive range of alpine plants including the National Collection of Campanulas, 176 species and 123 cultivars. Around the glasshouses re-used cold water tanks are used to grow the rarer alpines. The owners have planned a garden to grow plants which require good drainage and have incorporated a screed mount in a tight layout together with a potager with raised beds for vegetables.
