Introduction
Very little of the formal garden area of Penllergare remains intact.
Little of the structure and nothing of the plantings of the observatory and flower gardens adjacent to the mansion are now visible. It is possible that excavation might reveal more, particularly the course of gravelled paths. Otherwise only remnants of ornamental fencing, a gate and steps, some rhododendrons and a black mulberry in very poor condition hint at the previous usage.
