Introduction
Pontesford House dates from the early-19th century. There is an associated lodge in the grounds. A prehistoric hillfort lies nearby at Pontesford Hill.

Pontesford House, on the approach to Pontesbury from Shrewsbury, dates from about 1830. Of the same date is its entrance lodge, built in a 'slightly Swiss', picturesque style with a verandah.
