Introduction
Prestwich Hills had a house with grounds and a small park bounded by Butterstile Lane to the south with open fields on all other sides. By 1895 the lane was called Gardner Road and Prestwich Hills had become Diggle Fold Farm. The area was beginning to be developed and the park had already gone. The site is now lost, and the area has been built over.
