Introduction
Kersal Mount has a house bounded by Hilton Lane to the north with open fields on all other sides. The entrance is from Hilton Lane, with an entrance lodge to the northern end of the site. By the 1890s the house had changed its name to Prestwich Lodge and had become part of a development of detached houses with grounds. Parts of the site survive. Prestwich Lodge is now the club house of the golf course and much of its grounds and those of the neighbouring houses are now absorbed into the golf course itself.
