Royal British Legion Memorial Garden, Walton-on-Naze

Introduction

This memorial garden has a stone pillar as the focal memorial, with a broad stepped base. Herbert Columbine, a gunner in World War 1, is remembered with a bust. He had come originally from Walton, and was posthumously awarded the VC. There is also an RAF Wings memorial, featuring the propeller of a Halifax Bomber.
