Introduction
Springhill is a house with small garden and park of about 8 hectares set within open fields. There is a long entrance drive with a lodge, and a pond.
Springhill, with its park and garden, lies in open fields to the east of the Oldham Road with a long entrance drive across the park from Buersill.
There was encroachment on the northwest corner by the end of the 19th century. However the pleasure grounds were enhanced at that time and a second entrance to the park, with a lodge, was made to the north. The drive is now less formal and runs past a pond.
