Introduction
Fragments of a layout of broad woodland strips survive at Tormitchell, originally planted in the first half of the 19th century. The planting at another site, Balkeachy, is similar in age and character and both plantings may have been experimental. There is now a quarry at Tormitchell and the area has been recently developed as a wind farm.
