Upton Castle

Introduction

The medieval tower house is reached via a lodge and a planted drive through the former parkland. The walled garden was in existence by 1875. The pleasure gardens consist of terreces below the house, arboretum and lawns, and a dell. The latter two areas have a fine collection of plants, most of which were planted from 1927.
